Foundation for Education, Science and Community
Development in conjunction with the Qatar Armed Forces,
has spawned a new and unique concept of secondary
education. Qatar Leadership Academy has as its
cornerstones four values that are related to Islamic and
Qatari Culture:

Leadership Programs for shaping the Qatari nation’s
future leaders.

Rigorous Athletic Programs.
Qatar Leadership Academy will provide the highest
possible standards of education, and strives to achieve
academic and moral excellence for each cadet that enters
the academy. It will develop independent, critical
thinkers, lifelong learners and responsible Qatari
citizens who will be the future leaders of society.
The
Academy provides internationally accepted,
comprehensive, challenging, English medium programmes,
Arabic and Islamic Studies and a unique Leadership
Programme to graduation at age 18, in order to develop
future leaders who will prepare our young men for
further, higher education study either locally or
overseas.
 "Through Islamic studies, cadets will nurture their
moral and ethical values while enriching both, their
mind and spirits. These studies will include the origins
and history of Islam, including teachings of the Holy
Quran, Hadith and Seerat, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and
the Sahabet. There will be a mosque and an Imam on the
campus so that cadets can perform daily prayers. The
Imam will be available most of the time and can counsel
and advise cadets when required.
The QLA will offer a unique and exciting
leadership course to its cadets, of a type that
is not available anywhere in this region. “Leadership
is the ability or process to influence, lead or guide
others so as to accomplish a mission in the manner
desired by providing the purpose, direction and
motivation. The
Leadership Programme at the QLA has been adapted
and evolved from the ones at St John's Northwest
Military
Academy in Wisconsin, USA.
Cadets will work in platoons under a company leader.
During the course, cadets will be engaged in a number of
leadership- making skills and activities such as
Leadership Skills, Military Organisation and
Structure, Communications, Physical Fitness, First Aid
and Health, Map Reading, Air Safety Rifle and
Marksmanship.
The curriculum will also include a study of our nation's
great and glorious leaders and rulers. The aim of this
course is to foster self-respect, good personality,
courage and
leadership abilities in our cadets and mould a
new generation of leaders for the future.

academy have been recruited overseas and locally
and have extensive military experience and expertise,"

The four cornerstones of the QLA are: Islamic and Arabic
Culture and Values Programmes, internationally
recognised academic programmes,
leadership programmes for shaping the nation's
future leaders and a rigorous sports programme.

training to its cadets. Since the QLA is located here,

recognised curriculum of a very high standard with
well-qualified international faculty. QLA will ensure
that it brings out the best in its cadets.
 The weekly academic schedule of QLA will include three
languages, which are Arabic as the main language,
English and another foreign language such as French,
Spanish or Farsi, Islamic studies, humanities including
history, geography and local history, sciences such as
algebra, geometry and trigonometry, probability and
statistics and discrete mathematics, arts and design,
physical education including health and fitness,
individual and team sports and technology such as
designing, creativity and computer technology.
Some of the sports and athletic activities that would be
offered are personal fitness and training, soccer and
hockey, basketball, volleyball, badminton, handball,
swimming, gymnastics and shooting.
Facilities at QLA include spacious classrooms equipped
with materials and computers, fully-equipped science
labs, art studio and technology workshops, latest
computer hardware and software, a 250-seat auditorium,
well-stocked library and media centre, languages
laboratory, mosque, 30m swimming pool, indoor shooting
range, grass covered playing field, large multi-purpose
hall, outdoor courts for basketball, handball and
volleyball, a 400m running track, military obstacle
centre, military parade ground, high security, medical
facilities, comfortable and homely accommodation with
private study areas, pleasant and well equipped dining
hall with healthy food.
The
Academy offers small class sizes, spacious
classrooms and challenging international programmes. The
campus is on a large site about 40kms outside Doha, near
Al Khor.
